Emma Hamilton

Emma Hamilton started studying Martial Arts at the age of 16, and was awarded her 1st black belt in Hapkido at the age of 24. Since 2004, Emma has owned and operated Martial Arts studios, and she was the first female to own and successfully develop an independent Martial Arts facility in Vancouver. Her passion for learning new styles and methods of Martial Arts has been unwavering for decades. She has studied and competed in Muay Thai, Boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Emma’s love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was ignited in 2009 when she started studying the infamous Gracie style under Royce Gracie – UFC 1, 2, & 4 Champion. She continues to travel all over North America studying Jiu Jitsu with the Gracie family, focusing on expanding her knowledge and expertise in teaching Self-Defense.

Emma has learned and trained with many top coaches and practitioners all over the world, and takes her skill acquisition very seriously. She is an avid student and a passionate coach and her ongoing passion for learning and teaching is evident in all of her classes and workshops. Emma is committed to spreading the techniques and skills of how to defend oneself.

Emma has been boxing for over 12 years, and has competed in British Columbia in sanctioned boxing tournaments. Emma’s boxing coach was Tony Pep.
