LEARN to KNIT: Wed. Jan. 27 – Mar. 3, 1:30 – 3 p.m.; W.I. Hall. Learn how to knit,

purl, cast on & off, rib, join yarns, finishing with Leni Balaban. $54; plus $5 knitting kit.

 

BEEKEEPING: Wed. Feb. 17 – Mar. 31 (cancel Mar. 10); 6:30 – 9:30 p.m; Commons

Join long time beekeeper & B.C. apiary inspector Brenda Jager to learn all you need to know for setting up & maintaining your own hive; includes field trip; $150.

 

BELLYDANCING: Tues. Mar. 2 – Apr. 6, 6:30 – 8 p.m, W.I. Hall. Learn this ancient Middle Eastern art that is great exercise for increasing flexibility & muscle tone, plus a lot of fun; with instructor Genya Bonfield. Suitable for all abilities; $54.

 

ICE HOCKEY: Mar. 8, 7:15 – 8:45 pm; Cliff McNabb Arena. A fun, recreational

game; bring your own gear; sign up at Arbutus. Sponsored by Gabriola Lions.

FENCING (Ages 12+) re-starts Mon. Jan. 11; 7:30 – 9:30 pm; C.H; with Spade de Gabriola club members & instructor Alex McConnell. Equipment available; new participants welcome anytime. Adults: $45; Youth: $25.

 

KARATE (Ages 8+) Mon. 5 – 6:30 p.m.; GES Gym; re-starts Jan. 4. Gain strength, balance, flexibility & endurance regardless of age or fitness level; certified instructors.
